FDA Approves Brilinta for Acute Coronary Syndrome
On July 20, 2011, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approves the blood thinner drug Brilinta, manufactured by pharmaceutical firm AstraZeneca. The drug is a treatment for patients who had acute coronary syndromes. The action of this drug is to lower the risk of incurring a heart attack and to prevent the formation of new blood clots.
